September 2024 Newsletter - Assessing our needs

As a non-profit organization, your support is essential to maintaining our vibrant community and furthering our mission to offer Christian Scientists age 55+ a beautiful rental community that supports spiritual growth, continuing independence, joyful activity, and caring for each other and the wider world.

One of the most meaningful ways to demonstrate this support is by donating to our Living Generously and Independence Funds.

Living Generously Fund

Willows residents live where they thrive and thrive where they live. Imagine the impact a community of 150+ residents with shared values has and how collectively that can reduce a sense of loneliness and instead promote spiritual development and encourage the exchange of ideas and perspectives, which enriches the lives of everyone around them.

The Living Generously Fund is available to support this community of residents on their journey to discovering their sense of belonging and purpose, whether it’s a short-term need to support a community member or providing activities that embrace residents in a feeling of love and care.

Independence Fund

This fund is used primarily to pay for transportation outside of the community to attend church services, and to provide access to shopping, local community events and excursions.

This sense of active independence provides residents with opportunities to build friendships through shared experiences and gives them the ability to be active church members, attend church services, business meetings, as well as participate in community service projects.

Exciting News for Giving Tuesday!

We are thrilled to announce that a generous donor has pledged a $50,000 matching gift for this year’s Giving Tuesday! Every dollar you donate will now go twice as far, doubling the impact of your contribution to our mission. In addition to this match, we are introducing several challenge grants to make your support go even further.

This is an incredible opportunity to make a significant difference to our community, and we invite you to join us in maximizing this match. Whether it’s $10, $100 or $1,000, your support will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000. We will be announcing other challenge grant opportunities with the potential to unlock an additional $50,000 in support.
