Rebuilding Trust event panel

RECENT EVENT:

“Rebuilding Trust”

More than 160 community members gathered at the Newport Civic Center to hear from a panel of Monitor Editors and correspondents about their “Rebuilding Trust” project. Attendees opted to join the public event in person, foregoing the live presidential debate. They left enriched with new knowledge and a renewed sense of inspiration.

Many commented how the event opened their eyes on the idea of trusting one another better and the need to support The Christian Science Monitor more. One community member who knew little about the newspaper said it was “a revelation to learn about the Monitor”. Another shared with Christine how grateful they were to attend the event. “I’m so glad I wasn’t anywhere else,” they said. “The speakers provided a wonderful message and it's now up to us to apply it.” Another community member commented that it was “exactly what we all need at this time, with the world's chaos and confusion.”

Additionally, the newspaper saw a rise in new subscriptions shortly after the event, indicating the community's renewed commitment to its values and work.
